afaik, it's easier to look at sth poorly written and improve it. writing from scratch is taxing.
in our minds, ideas take shape. they start as clouds and then begin to solidify, but very rough at the edges. then the evolutionary options are weighed in the balance until a concrete idea pops out. from the waters of creation, something definite crystallises.
so the question is whether the rough-hewn codegen is harmless inspo or whether it robs us of creativity and misdirects us.

years ago, i had separate partitions for media, bigfiles, archive. I formatted them with Ext4 and a larger blocksize of 4kb, but nowadays you can jump to 8kb. if i had a partition dedicated to cinema, i would try blocksize 16kb.
maybe you already tried this?
EDIT: now we have ssd + ssd firmware + modern kernel + updated filesystems. so i don't mess with it. nowadays, i would do fs tweaks on a second disk, separate from the OS.
