@dada87@social.cologne Ich habe den Vorschlag gehört, die Erbschaftssteuer sei tot und nicht mehr wiederzubeleben. Stattdessen sollen einfach alle Finanztransaktionen besteuert werden. Und für Fälle wie "schenken von Eltern an Kinder" und "Erben von Ommas Häuschen" kann ja wieder ein meinetwegen sehr hoher Freibetrag her.

@dada87@social.cologne Auf die Gefahr hin, Käptn Obvious zu sein: Das Wort von "Omma ihr klein Häuschen" war ein Trick der Überreichen, um nie wieder Erbschaftssteuer zahlen zu müssen - und wir sind alle drauf reingefallen. "Omma ihr klein Häuschen" war nie in Gefahr, dafür gibts Freibeträge. Wir haben aber schlicht zuwenig Fantasie, um uns den Überreichtum vorstellen zu können, den ein Mensch heute haben kann, und denken deswegen ständig, die Freibeträge könnten zu hoch sein, um wirksam zu sein...

Techbros (e.g. Thiel, who very openly talks in apocalyptic terms) know fully well that they need an army of fanatics to fulfill their longtermist dreams / to plunder all available resources. Arguably that is the whole reason for their information-gathering enterprise.
