A new version of The Homelab Almanac is available! This is a cosmetic update, with the EPUB and PDF versions massively overhauled and beautified. We also address the realities of homelabs in this costly era.

New course alert! "Wireguard from Scratch" will take you from the core concepts of Wireguard networking all the way to building out production-ready private networks for your community.
It's not a joke! Today is moving day for TTI. Our primary home is the same domain, but as of today, https://taggartinstitute.org points to our Discourse forum! This platform replaces both Teachable and Discord for us.
All course material has been ported over to Discourse. So has The Homelab Almanac, which is available for purchase directly on the new site!
Teachable students: unfortunately we cannot transfer your account, but all course material is still available in both platforms for now. You can access the old TTI courses at teachable.taggartinstitute.org. I encourage you to check out our new home though—we even have a nifty new certificate generator to share your accomplishments! The Teachable platform will remain available until June 2026.
We're very excited about this brand new chapter for TTI. At long last, we own the entire stack for our community. It's very liberating. We hope you'll join us on this new adventure. More courses and events are coming soon to TTI!

The TTI Intel Feed, one of our most valuable tools, has been gifted to @ifin@infosec.exchange since it is more directly in line with the mission of that org. Operations will continue as normal, and there’s a redirect in place for the new URL at http://news.ifin.network.

This was the last thing to completely migrate off of Teachable, and it's finally done! Certificates are live on TTI!
It took creating an entirely custom certificate generation system to do (more on that later), but it's done. Here's how it works:
Every course has a Course Completion topic, with an agreement button that functions just like how you enrolled and agreed to our community rules. When you click that button, a Rube Goldbergian situation kicks off that:
GDPR concerns are addressed: if you request deletion, the cert will be anonymized and all user data will be removed.
If you're found to cheat or violate our community rules in any way, the cert can be revoked and the verification will indicate the revocation.
But hey! Certificates! It took a lot to get here, and hopefully this serves as a reasonable replacement for the Teachable flow.
