As part of our transition from fiscal sponsorship to a non-profit organisation, The Carpentries Board seeks to elect four community members to serve a three-year term on the Board from February 2024. A non-profit Board of Directors is a group of individuals elected to govern and oversee the organisation’s operations.

In May 2023, a significant milestone was reached as The Carpentries transitioned all 43 of its official lessons to a new lesson infrastructure, The Carpentries Workbench. The Carpentries Workbench was a 3-year project led by @zkamvar@fosstodon.org with input and contributions from many community members.
