It's definitely not reasonable to expect people to enabled third party app install sources. It's a fact of life that Google and Apple have an effectively monopolistic app repository on their OS.
But even then, a closed ecosystem doesn't detract from opensource. It's just more difficult to guarantee openness.

Add to that the (legitimate) concern whether the app people download & install, is *actually* the one built from the sourcecode in the repo. This is of course a concern with any binary someone else built in advance, but this is about an app that basically everyone eventually will have to have.
I wonder how the member states are going to deal with this question.
