Alternatively, could we offer you one of the other 14 different styles of bike lane that our proud city offers? No, they're not connected to each other, we assume that people put their bike in their car, drive around until they see a bike lane, then just bail on their car like we're in Grand Theft Auto and bike until that lane too mysteriously ends.

@gruber@mastodon.social Catching up on the Talk Show, and RE: the Photos app I think what would be a compromise is to keep Photos as the default viewer but allow apps to vend sync engines to the Photos and allow you to select one other than iCloud. All the other photo sync apps are worse than iCloud because they can’t automatically sync in the background, so you have to launch the app to sync. That would keep the default behaviour while allowing the user to select a non-Apple provided service on the backend.

If I have my headphones connected to my laptop and receive a Microsoft Teams call, after the call ends if I press play on my headphones it plays the hidden MP3 of the Microsoft Teams call connection sound all the way through rather than resuming Spotify.
