I absolutely agree. I see development communities going up left and right where they tear down an entire forest, but then the very same people sit there and tell me I can't take down a dying tree that's right above my house.
There's just undeniable levels of disconnect from reality on both sides and it's slightly frustrating. Meanwhile, we just want nature.

This is very easy to solve. People need to go outside more often.
I have literally talked with people who thought that the state was losing its last forest. Meanwhile, we have state parks all over the place. Even worse, are the people who think these concrete jungles are beautiful. They'll cut down everything and then plant a bush for the environment.

It seems that these crazies like to go undercover and act moderately normal, get to a position of some power and then start pulling triggers all over the place. I'll bet this person will be ousted and then the wiki will be reinstated, like it should be.

I think what bugs me the most is that this commonly held fear of missing out in addition to the just have to have the latest thing doesn't stop anyone from signing up for the next scam.
You didn't have it to begin with, but shiny thing dangling in front of your face says, yes, give up all your rights for your money, and it's all good.
Sometimes it's perfectly great to just not get it until it's what is good and right. Most of all, fully yours.

I think it's going to be an overall thinning effect. While there will be some jobs to make some of the crap actually work, we're going to end up with a lot of jobs for smaller companies that actually provide good service.
To add to the problem, a lot of people have lowered their expectations even when dealing with a human being because we've outsourced so much. And AI is not going to be much different.

Meanwhile, every cop car has tin on every window darker than anyone's allowed to legally have. And they're exempt from using their cell phone, and they get a computer screen that's flashing stuff at them all the time.
