I was an early but not super early adaptor to facebook and twitter, Having a good time on the internet until I got temporary disabled in 2011 and chronicly disabled in 2012. My life changed drasticly and realising my online friends provided 0 support led to me leaving all social media behind in the next couple of years. I thought I would never try any social media ever again.
In 2019 a podcaster was so enthousiastic about his new mastodon server I reluctantly gave it a try. That instance was barely moderated and one day someone just accidentally deleted it. At that point I wanted to stay on mastodon and without giving it much thought I went: what instance has most of the people who I like? Weirder Earth! I made my first account here in june 2020 (with my deadname as handle, so this is my second w.e. account). And I bloomed.
