It was a lot of fun experimenting with Edoardo Pensieri’s @speedeeps@typo.social Typoclast tool, where he modified my fonts. With these new fonts, we created several videos using my tool, the MF Player. 🤝 🤩

Motion Fonts

Besides the manifesto there is also an index of motion fonts and a motion font player. The player is a tool for testing and animating variable fonts in an online editor, offering dedicated loop features and video export.

Happy to Announce the Motion Fonts Platform 🎉

Motion fonts describe a typographic approach in which movement is an integral part of the typeface identity. From this idea emerged a manifesto, developed and shaped through ongoing dialogue with type designers working in this field. It aims to bring Motion Fonts out of their experimental sandbox and into the spotlight as a fully recognized typographic category.
