@PetraOleum@cloudisland.nz the current system (http://www.emergencyalert.gov.au) is SMS based and had massive issues with delayed receiving (some as late as 2 weeks) or not being received at all during the 19/20 fire season. Australia also doesn’t require verification of SMS sender ID, so yeah.
The one benefit it has, and the stated reason Queensland aren’t going to use AusAlert, is it can also automatically call landlines.
Are people still receiving AusAlert or is it already doing better with regards to timely distribution than the existing 0444444444 SMS-based system that couldn’t handle the 2019/20 fire season?
