The final straw (hopefully final) was when he showed up at my mom's hospital room as she was recovering from pneumonia on top of COPD. Of course, he was so drunk that he passed out on the floor in her room and had to be escorted out by security. My mom clearly told him not to drive her car as did the security officer. Of course, he drove anyway. You know the rest from G's previous posts. This is not as poetic as G's posts, but I want to give you all an update and provide some context. Thanks!

Shortly after she met him, he started being problematic; but, we were there to protect her. However, once he followed her to KY, it became a never-ending struggle. At least 3-4 times a year, she would call me in crisis, wanting me to help kick him out. Most of the time, I was able to convince him to leave. However, in the past few years, the crises became more frequent and he became more belligerent.

Alcoholic bf: She met him 20 years ago during one of the saddest moments in her life. Due to being scammed by a grifter, she ended up having to file bankruptcy. Her husband of 15 years had recently died from cancer, and she had no way to pay the mortgage on the house. Therefore she moved in with me and my ex. We were living in Hammond, IN (a suburb of Chicago). She met the alcoholic BF while in Hammond. Seven years later she was able to move back to KY where she had lived all her life.

Thank you to all that have responded to @gdog@woof.group amazing posts about my mom. To give an update, mom is out of the hospital, has got home health set up, meals on wheels, and I set her up with grocery delivery from her local Kroger's store. All of this was done in an effort to avoid her being dependent on the alcoholic boyfriend.
