A few of us in Rotterdam have been working hard on https://www.prikbord.page : a web calendar specifically for creative spaces and underground venues in Rotterdam. It is online now and we are officially launching it on May 29 in Roodkapje West.

It all started with a sunny afternoon in 2025: 15 small and niche venues met up in Rotterdam to find the answer to a burning question: How do we collectively get ourselves off Instagram?

If you’re a Rotterdam organizer and want to connect to prikbord, come to the launch! We can help you get on board. The website is online already and we’re currently collecting feedback, so feel free to email if you see something strange or have a suggestion <3

@cyannevdh and I made a fun little curiosa display for Come Together, a performance & art gathering at Frascati in Amsterdam. We used the invite to experiment with CMYK lithophane 3D printing.

We were also deeply inspired by @jwn@tldr.nettime.org 's talk at 39C3 on dirty data and how words, species and topics disappear from AI through heuristic dataset cleaning methods.

Through this filtration, jiawen mentioned even animals and plants with naughty names fall victim. So... can we call this a linguistic extinction event? Here's to the Cabbage Bastard, Dik Dik and Cockchafer 🥂

Conceptually we saw a link with mineral extraction methods such as lithium mining, where unimaginable amounts of water are needed to slowly filter out lithium. Visually it's inspired by salty and oxidizing landscapes, neatly arranged in offset rectangles.

prikbord.page is an experimental cultural event calendar for indie venues in Rotterdam. The idea started this summer when we (@zipspace@mastodon.social) and 14 other cultural initiatives got together with one question: How can we collectively deplatform?

Prikbord wants to serve as a parallel example to cultural content on Instagram's wasteland. It will be designed with, by and for underground communities and will focus on accessibility, small efforts and, most of all, ADVENTUROUS FUN! 🤸‍♀️

I will be joining the core team as front-end designer.
