For institutions it is nice to be able to keep private conversations and chat inside the domain of the institution itself: ex. I can chat with students without the need to exit the domain, accepting thirds party privacy policy in a non monitored place.
While everyone likes privacy I like to keep my communications within institutional boundaries, protecting both myself and the students.

Maybe on the server side you can match it with a browser fingerprint and also track you during your cli job.
