For as much as #palo_alto_networks like to charge for their hardware/software/services, you'd think they'd run a few spell-checking passes on their products before shipping... Or at least after a few years of it being in use.

@lerothas@tech.lgbt @da_667@infosec.exchange the Framework 16 has 6. That said, I think it's striking a good balance with portability and expandability, and ultimately what the user wants.
I guess my point was more that there are options outside of the big name brands that still seem to value giving users modularity and choice. I don't see Apple, HP, or others changing anytime soon without having good competition like Framework offering a better solution.

@da_667@infosec.exchange I can't speak for optical drive options (though I hear that laptops sold in Japan still have them in some cases), Framework laptops have modular, USB-C based expansion ports. My Framework 13 has 4 (2 on either side), all of which can be used for charging.
The expansion cards offer USB-C, USB-A, Micro SD, HDMI, DP, Ethernet, and 3.5mm audio (in addition to the one that is on the part of the laptop), and storage. The Ethernet card sticks out a bit, but the rest are flush with the case.
