Sorry for the super personal post on here, but this is the only way I can reach some of you.
Last week, after consultation with two different neurosurgeons, I had a spinal procedure done on my neck. (It was a C5/C6 and C6/C7 discectomy with fusion, for you crazy people who want to google it)
The procedure went well and I’m home-bound recovering for the next six weeks in this sweet looking collar. (And yes, i intentionally picked the Vader shirt for going home from the hospital)

It’s a strange feeling, waiting in line with fellow enthusiasts, clapping and cheering with fellow employees, for the chance to return some of my hard earned salary back to the company that employs me.
Then again, I was the first sonofabitch out of that store with a Neo.

To every friend and fellow Star Trek fan who told me I had to watch DS9, you were 100% right about everything.
Season six has been such a huge payoff for character investment and I’m still only a third through it. Only took me 30 years.

I need a Nike + Apple collab so I can wear Dunks color coordinated with my chosen Neo colorway for the day.
Wonder which Radar component I should file that under…

@twostraws Obviously biased, but I really like it after giving it the quickest of test drives. Tons of original iMac vibes.
Not as clumsy or random as other computers; an elegant one for a more civilized age.

@twostraws Silver, but I’m afraid I made a mistake not getting Indigo. Good chance I end up with two Neos.

By typical use (at least after 3/11)…
iPhone Air: Everyday, always with me computer
iPad Pro 11”: Meeting computer
MacBook Neo: Fun computer
Sadly my “pro” work is mostly meetings, though occasionally a MBA will make an appearance when Keynote is required. I’m excited to use the Neo for fun, creative things: writing, personal code, deep thinking

Silicon Valley hype: “AI will replace software engineers”
Silicon Valley Doctor’s office: “I need you to hand carry a burnt CD of your MRI to your appointment. Oh and I won’t schedule that critical appointment until you have confirmed the CD is in your possession.”
Silicon Valley Teenager: “How do you ‘burn’ a CD?”

Ever since the boy and I watched “Dunkirk”, I’ve had Elgar on my brain. Now that things are winding down, I can finally entertain my ear worm: https://music.apple.com/us/album/elgar-enigma-variations-pomp-and-circumstance-marches/1593646822

Saw a familiar face on a work video call last week. Hadn’t seen each other since 2007 when we met at the C4 developer’s conference in Chicago.
Before the iPhone. Before we did the things that would reunite us at Apple almost 20 years later. Just two dreamers excited about building Mac software and happy to talk with like-minded folks.

What’s the point in having every Bond film on your service if you can’t recommend them in the right order? It’s as if those chucklefucks at Amazon aren’t even trying.
