The thing is, plenty of people will rather be a Mad Max king sitting on top of ruins than to be an ordinary citizen in a prosperous world. The latter gives you food and security and community and maybe quite a bit of creature comfort but the former allow people to be their worst selves with no consequences and to treat others as lesser beings and plenty of people really, really want that.

We’ve reach that point where you can type in a bunch of incomprehensible jabber and Claude / other LLMs will still perfectly get what you mean 90% of the time but when you communicate with humans, there’s a high chance they’ll misinterpreted it somehow haha

(So you could say that pork was a mutton substitute in the first place and it makes sense to substitute pork with mutton!) (Though mutton is way more gamey and a bit more flavorful than pork, and ironically where I live, it’s the Chinese who grew up pork who tend to find mutton too gamey for their taste.)

I feel that halal Chinese restaurants are not doing their dishes justice by substituting pork with chicken, chicken is just… a very poor pork substitute when it comes to flavor and texture. (Lamb/mutton will be ideal but pricey, but beef is also ok.)

But I get why they do it, apart from chicken being a cheaper meat, it’s also more universally accepted compared to beef and mutton.

(Fun fact: China preferred mutton for most of its history but switched to pork after losing access to northern pastures during the southern Song dynasty)

As much as Claude is going to destroy white-collared jobs like mine, it has also empowered tons of people to vibe code their own apps, webpages, and other solutions to solve their own niche challenges. The future is not-so-great for employment but it’ll also make the barrier of entry for small businesses & individual entrepreneurs much, much lower.

Funny how unchecked power essentially means anarchy for the elites. What happens on Epstein island is the same as what happens on a lawless war zone - men with power/weapons are put in a situation where they no longer worry about accountability, so they either play out their darkest desires or conform to evil.
