@frankrolf @justvanrossum @lianghai @fontra I pinged Vaishnavi Murthy a couple of days ago about this, I guess you’re already in touch with. FWIW, we follow a simple naming convention for Malayalam glyphs (can be used for all/most Indic scripts as well). k1 for ക, k2 for ഖ, etc. — a screenshot attached. Conjunct glyph names logically combine the base glyph names (k1k1 for ക്ക, for e.g.). The complete list can be seen at https://rachana.org.in/docs/rachana-glyphlist.pdf

In 2025, I have also developed Arsenal Math OpenType font (to use with Unicode engines such as XeTeX, LuaTeX, MS Word etc.) and released as open source in the CTAN repository.

Inspired by the syntax highlighting font by @gdc@typo.social, I have developed an OpenType colour font with built-in syntax highlighting of TeX documents. This was presented at the TUG2025 conference.

@graphicore @nicksherman @gdc @ANRT I am told by a TeXpert that similar effect is achived by the ‘ragged2e’ LaTeX package. Quoting him: “This package helps to configure the \rightskip (which is 0pt in justified text) to a new value with glue, e.g., 1em plus .5em minus .25em or whatever. We do use this package in our phone PDFs to format the text with tolerable raggedness of the right margin.” The package documentation is at http://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/ragged2e/ragged2e.pdf
