@Lee_in_Iowa@newsie.social @mjfuhlhage@mastodon.social Oh, I fully expect that a -lot- of my followers on there were either old accounts or bot-type accounts. But since I don't really have the knowledge to figure out how many of my subs were 'seeing' my posts, I'm just working with the numbers as honest at this point. Part of the difficulty I think is as Twitter grew, people's understanding of it and how it worked grew. Mastodon is an old service, but we're still now asking whole communities to learn it literally overnight

@mjfuhlhage@mastodon.social That's what I'm doing. I made an announcement yesterday or the day before there that at this point, all my new news stuff will be on here, but I'll still comment and such on the bird app. The problem I have is I still have less than 10% of my followers here as I do there, and even of those I'd say half of them are unique to Mastodon. So the greatly diminished audience is a concern that I'm trying to address.
