one thing i hate on social media is this pervasive idea how everything u say is supposedly directly influencing politics. "this bad world politics thing happened because of all you people on here who were saying X" like no it didn't lol

if neurotypicals went into a room with 4 different colored lights flashing at different rates and 4 klaxons blaring at random intervals, and no windows, and had a cup of coffee and a chat together in there, would they be overstimmed and complain that it's not setup how they like it? or would they just not like it because it's weird and annoying

why the heck do i even need to see a nurse for STI testing, all they do is print the form and write my name on the containers, can we not just skip this step and let me self serve that stuff, like ive done this a million times it would be so much easier for me (a time poor person) if i could just pick up the containers and drop them off somewhere on my own time. instead i have to find time to go all the way to the city for a couple hours just to get tested

@atriplex@adlsolarpunk.net yeah I think realistically i need to be looking more at union people for support than other individual anarchists, but I know anarchists I don't know many union people, you're telling me i have to make new friends :dragncrysmile:

(I will probably keep being annoying about it, but I will try to be less arrogant, I can see how acting super convinced my idea's better can come off that way especially when I'm using a bunch of terminology that ppl are not equipped to argue against, I've become the person I used to hate gahh it's just so fun to use these big words)

@atriplex@adlsolarpunk.net Oh absolutely agree, it's extremely unlikely you'll convince anyone on theory and much more likely you'll convince them on practical experience. And I definitely lack skills in actually organizing.

The problem is I'm really time poor so the idea of joining an org where I just tactically disagree with what they're doing, purely to learn to organize, feels like a waste of time. My top priority is unionizing tech industry workers, in the eastern states the ancom orgs offer a lot of support to do this kinda thing but here there's basically nothing. So I really wish I could convince the people I'm politically closest to that these goals are worthwhile and we can organize together, but maybe I just have to accept its not gonna happen and I'm building essentially solo

Professionals Australia members behind Australia's first tech workers strike

This week, DXC tech workers made history. For the first time in Australian tech, workers walked off the job and onto the picket line. DXC's response? Instead of negotiating fairly, management tried to bribe Mainframe workers with $975 a day over Easter to cross the picket line. Mainframe members came together and decided as a group to reject the payment and to continue standing with their coworkers to win their claims! These workers have fallen so far behind so far in real wages over the last five years, no one-off 'bonus' is going to break their solidarity!
