@chartgerink@akademienl.social like many, I try to find meaning in my work, but I’ve also been learning to not rely too heavily on work for that as it makes me too fragile.

I also get a lot of satisfaction out of helping other people succeed, either personally or professionally.

Last, and this is corny, but having a baby on the way has been enriching (even if, I’m sure, I will experience many frustrations once the baby is born)

I was part of a small group who tried to turn “red teaming” into a business and we just could not find the market to pay for it. But we didn’t look within highly regulated research because that wasn’t our background. That’s what I’d do if I were to try starting that business again

@melissaekline@mefi.social @briannosek@nerdculture.de finances are audited for compliance with financial regulations; seems like a small step to enact audits of research findings where there is already community acceptance that the stakes are high enough to justify certain kinds of regulation

@melissaekline@mefi.social @briannosek@nerdculture.de for some reason I can’t reply to your next toot but I agree they “auditor” is the right answer, but might be tough to sell, depending on who is paying the money for these. Academics don’t like the feeling of someone looking over their shoulder, but could probably be convinced to accept it for research that is already quite regulated (like clinical trials)
