A weekend well spent at DjangoDay India and meeting @djangonaut@indieweb.social folks IRL!
🦄 🚀 💜
Honored to be nominated and approved as an Individual Member of the Django Software Foundation 💚
Not sure who nominated me, but the email came on the toughest day of my year and it meant the world.
Django has been a big part of my tech journey, and I’m excited to keep giving back.
Big thank you to @djangonautspace@bird.makeup for being such a supportive community and helping me grow.
This week's @djangochat@fosstodon.org episode was such a banger! 🤌🏾
A lot of great takeaways
- Playing around with Sqlite's concurrent writes management before trying out dj-lite.
- NanoDjango & Django Formset looks super fun to play around.
- I really hope as a Django community we get a better APIs story for Django. This was a common topic a lot of folks talked about at PyCon India too.
- I need to try out DjangoNinja.
- I am in so much FOMO for Django on the med, maybe at Django Day India I can pitch Django on the Hills with folks contribute to the framework from India. *wink wink* @bhuvnesh@fosstodon.org
Started working on django-scanapi, which gives a plug&play kinda version for your Django REST API with the goodness of Django.
Though I could not find much info besides the official docs on writing reusable apps.
If you have a favorite blog post or talk please send it my way. This is my first time writing a reusable app. So I can take all the help I can get.
PS: Also open to feature suggestions if you have ideas that would fit well with django-scanapi.
More info on ScanAPI
Finished first two chapters of SQL Book
Can't wait to read the next ones, once those are ready.
This week’s “Updates to Django” just dropped! 🚀
It’s serving piping hot commits and PRs from Django 6.0 🍜🔥
Check it out 🦄
@anze3db@fosstodon.org thanks for writing this blog "UV with Django"
It was exactly what I needed on my first day using uv.

Had an awesome time at PyConf Hyderabad 2025 today! 🐍
A lot of good takeaways from a couple of talks I attended can't wait dig deeper on those.
Also met @tonybaloney@fosstodon.org in person after enjoying his talks and the CPython Internals book.
@wsvincent@fosstodon.org great talk "Django User Model: Past, Present, and Future" 👏🏾

Just finished watching it gives a lot of context on the "why".
Also gives me some sense why this ticket has been open for so long and I think I am punching way above my weight working on it. 🤣
But really excited to work more on the ticket I’ll pick up a lot of things while working on it.
Appreciation toot for @djangochat@fosstodon.org and Django News newsletter.
Do check them out 🙌🏾
