Since 6 Mar 2026, seven Tunisian comrades have been detained. Authorities first imposed five days of preventive detention, then extended it another five. On 16 Mar 2026, a judge ordered their pre-trial detention.

They are: Ghassen Boughdiri, Jawaher Channa, Nabil Chennoufi, Ghassen Henchiri, Sana Msahli, Wael Nawar, & Dr. Mohamed Amine Ben Nour.

These comrades have been part of the work for years, including vital efforts linked to the Global Sumud Flotilla & the wider movement to break the siege on Gaza.

What is happening to them is not isolated. It comes in the context of repression, criminalisation, and a campaign to discredit those who refuse silence while Gaza is starved and besieged. Rights groups in Tunisia have condemned the case, calling for their immediate release.

We want to honour the Tunisian people, whose solidarity with Palestine has been long-standing, principled, and deeply felt.
