In the UK every public utility - electricity, gas, power lines, mail, phones, even water, was sold by the government (who managed it on behalf of everyone) to private (almost always foreign) companies.

"So how is that going?"" you ask.

EVERYTHING IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND THE RIVERS ARE FULL OF SHIT. Because why would a foreign company care how much money strangers have to give them or how much of a toilet their country becomes?
