“Technik” / Technology
The “book train” at the 42nd Street branch of the New York Public Library — a conveyor system that runs on 950 feet of vertical and horizontal tracks to deliver books from the underground stacks to the Rose Main Reading Room on the top floor. I was lucky enough to see it as part of a behind-the-scenes tour. More photos and video at the link in the comments.
