@miss_rodent yeah a lot of projects don't seem to put much thought into this. But we have contributions from Sun Microsystems which technically means that it's oracle code now, so if we wanted to change the license or grant an exception to here's the ones we need to ask. Likewise we have Novell as a contributor too and it's less clear on who could speak for them. In these cases a CLA would be a better option but we can't undo the past but we can avoid making it worse by not allowing llms.
