@pluralistic It's the threat to cognition itself which is an issue. Learning is every human being's birthright. It isn't as simple as the Butlerian Jihad in Frank Herbert's novels, because these are distinctly unthinking machines. What Chomsky said about LLMs needs to be tattooed on various people's heads: "Their basic design prevents them from reaching the minimal condition of adequacy for a theory of human language: distinguishing possible from impossible languages."
