It's not like the podcaster is going to be clicking every single payment that comes in, this will ultimately be handled by a program that fetches and consolidates the payment data from all the apps. And if they need a program that does all of that, then they'll need a server, at which point, let's cut the fetching step out and have the apps send it straight to the server.
