And avoiding Android/iOS devices for national ID purposes, e.g., in Austria, is possible (if you are willing to spend a couple of euros for extra hardware, in this case FIDO sticks), but it's not exactly advertised to the citizens. It's more “if you complain you don't have a 'modern' smartphone, you get pointed that way.”
