An Lanntair: Explore the rich and diverse world of rhythm across musical genres and cultures. This interactive class will take you on a journey through music from around the world, discovering how different communities use rhythm to express identity, tradition, and creativity. You’ll learn about the history, sound, and notation of a variety of rhythmic styles, building both understanding and practical skills.
Through engaging games and hands-on activities, children will experience rhythm in a fun and accessible way. There will be opportunities to play and create rhythms using any instrument, body percussion, or voice, making the class suitable for all musical backgrounds and experience levels.
Suitable for age 12 – 16.
The session will be led by Eilidh Young, an arts worker, music teacher and pipe-band drummer. To find out more, email Eilidh at: eyoung1x@gnes.net
We can make tickets available free of charge for children who would benefit from Rhythm Club, but for whom cost would be a barrier. Contact mailto:moira@anlanntair.com for details.
