We used this new attack surface to forge a proof that beats Google’s on every metric.</p><p>Google patched it within days. Their quantum claims are unaffected. <a href="https://blog.trailofbits.com/2026/04/17/we-beat-googles-zero-knowledge-proof-of-quantum-cryptanalysis/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">blog.trailofbits.com/2026/04/1</span><span class="invisible">7/we-beat-googles-zero-knowledge-proof-of-quantum-cryptanalysis/</span></a></p> I think it’s pretty important to state that the bug is in unsafe Rust code @trailofbits

I think it would be fine but the deprecation lint would have to start being enforced in next edition and I don't think .unwrap*() could be truly deprecated for the next few editions @Mara@hachyderm.io
