@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe @geerlingguy@mastodon.social I am going to the library makerspace to get certified* to use their ultimaker S5 today. Ill see if using it works to replace my old printer that is failing when I try larger prints. Otherwise, I was looking at the Bamboo labs X2D with 2 nozzles (i like the idea of multi color/material prints with less waste). Ill look at other options in the consumer price range if i need to buy one, or look into putting it on the IOT vlan that has no outbound access. *certified = watch a video and get basic training on how to not break the printer when using it.

@bagder@mastodon.social thanks - I corrected my post. I was thinking vulnerabilities and not bugs.

@bagder@mastodon.social your article made it abundantly clear that curl has already been extensively audited for years using all of the tools and techniques available. It is nice that a tool can find a single new vulnerability, around 20 bugs, with a small number of false positives. Edited to correct vulnerability/bugs.

@Larvitz@burningboard.net this is a great summary. Thanks! I've used many of these tools, but probably not as effectively or efficiently as your guide to get to the bottom of performance issues.

@mntmn Are any current or future MNT models being designed using FreeBSD supported components? It looks like there is an OpenBSD image. I'll likely try one for my next portable device regardless of the OS, but I am most familiar with FreeBSD, and would prefer that if the drivers exist.

@jaap@mastodon.bsd.cafe you might see what @gyptazy did for @BoxyBSD@mastodon.bsd.cafe hosting project. That project is winding down in a few weeks. It was free for end users.

@mzar@fosstodon.org @_bapt_@mastodon.social I've always liked that ee is the default- it makes it much easier for a novice to edit config files because the commands are listed on the screen. Anyone who has a preference for another editor probably knows how to set it in their preferred shell.

@toomanysecrets since you mentioned jails, ansible, and bastille, do you have an example that could be shared? I've been trying out some ansible/jails connectors that use vanilla jail.conf instead of bastille. The initial setup is just ssh into each jail. I am planning to switch to just logging in to each host and managing the jails from the host. Foe my use case, scale isn't as important as a DR plan to provision a server, pull in ZFS snapshot backup data, and continue service.

@Larvitz thanks! I think your example config gives a great starting point for someone who hasn't used pf before. BTW, the book of pf 4th edition just came out!

@_elena@mastodon.social Just saying thanks for making this video! It is an excellent introduction to the fediverse, especially for people who are familiar with the centralized social media options. I especially like that you include specific example platforms that are designed for specific uses (pictures, video, microblogging, books, etc.) and links to find more information.
