These are some of the more recent building unions NCTU and Triangle Tenant Union have been supporting. The article details how they've been made to endure various safety hazards in part because they are mostly black senior citizens in need of housing subsidies.

Went to investigate this alleged "Locale 601" co-working space in Chapel Hill to see if I could finagle an affordable individual membership. It's supposedly in a building that shares space with some residential condos, businesses, dentists, art galleries, what have you. The concierge did not know it existed. Theoretically on the second floor with the dentists, but the area seemed abandoned.

There was, however, a clean and peaceful public restroom.

I would say Carrboro has more charm than Apex, which I consider to be eerie. "Hunky Dory Opens Record Store in Downtown Apex.
