Hopefully it will now last a couple years more :)
Watched the Odyssey movie, dunno if it was the venue or just how the movie is supposed to render, but the volume was so loud I had to put my noise cancelling headphones on...
I'll be at FOSDEM once again, delivering a short update about the on-going WebRTC/WebKitGTK/WPE efforts. See you there! https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/event/fosdem-2026-8879-webrtc-support-in-webkitgtk-and-wpewebkit-with-gstreamer-current-status-and-plans/
The WebKitGTK GstWebRTC backend now relies on librice (https://github.com/ystreet/librice) for its ICE. The Sans-IO architecture of librice allows us to keep the WebProcess sandboxed and to route WebRTC-related UDP and TCP packets using the NetworkProcess. This work landed in https://commits.webkit.org/303623@main. The GNOME SDK should also soon ship librice (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-build-meta/-/merge_requests/4146). Thanks to all the folks involved!
