I think it will eventually be dropped as the actions become more de-personalized. Look at how cuts went from being big all hands meetings, to Zoom calls, to emails, to disabling access immediately.
There’s a Magic the Gathering store tournament this weekend. It is using the “standard” format, the one designed to sell you the most recent cards.
I’m only going cause the prices are unique art cards for the “modern” format, one that allows for cards from the last ~15 years.
I am totally aware I am being bribed to get the thing I’d actually use.
