@jeffpc@mastodon.radio @eviltrout@carpdiem.online And this is possible due to the #opensource nature of IRC networks. That's the first (sort of) federated social network chatty thingy with wide user space. Even Mastodon has seen instances worth blocking with evil moderators and such. The beauty of it is that you can pick the nice one and jump instances without having to learn a whole new way of using some platform. A single client application can handle all of your instances, just like with IRC. That's nice, I'd say.
