One side effect is that issue reporting would increase in quality immediately.

Wouldn't it be awesome if big OSS Python scientific libraries just move to codeberg and start publishing only sdists in their corresponding GitHub repos? What a powerful message would that be to the current state of OSS development.

@ethanwhite@hachyderm.io a recent blog post (sorry, lost the link) mentioned a similar issue for tech and code. Should open source maintainers invest in people, and get long term contributors to their projects as they learn? Or have LLMs do "work"? If we stop teaching people, where will innovation come from? Or is that the end goal of big techs? Nothing new can shake their grasp on tech b/c nothing new will ever happen.

@kajord@hachyderm.io my very first year in the USA, College Station, TX, I made that mistake. Checked the distance, it was within my walkable range, and off I went . If only I could talk to my past self... That is definitely on my top 5 mistakes (so far). PS: let's just say that whoever called the cops on me when they saw a suspicious brown man walking, did me a favor. I got a ride to my destiny.

To all GSoC candidates out there. The more AI-slop PRs you push to projects, trying to build a relationship, etc... the more we are likely to not choose you.
