Replacing #search results with #AI is like closing the #library and let random people summarize what they think they have read in a #book.

I‘m living in a house full of books. I think books are important. They store knowledge. They‘re beautiful.

I hope people without books know what they will be loosing if they can no longer see the sources of information on the internet.

@medienbaecker I heard a talk by a big German design agency two years ago who was very proud of their ecological behaviour and how they were building inclusive systems. They started to incorporate AI into there processes. Asked how that fitted into their proclaimed values, they didn't care. To me it seemed as if they've only ever cared about buzzwords they could sell to big clients – it's just that the buzzwords shifted. Today, everything is AI but it doesn't mean anything.

@simonwehr@mastodon.cloud @gerritvanaaken@typo.social Vielleicht ein interessanter Aspekt: Unsere Aufgabe als Gestalter ist ja auch einzuordnen, ob die Idee eines Auftraggebers zielführend ist und welche Implikationen eine Umsetzung langfristig haben wird. Was im beschriebenen Fall aufschlussreich sein kann: Welche Prompts wurden für den Prototyp verwendet? Also welches Ziel oder welche Problemlösung hatte der Kunde im Sinn? Prompting kann hier einen anderen Einblick geben. Das KI-Ergebnis gilt es dann kritisch zu prüfen.
