I created this account several years ago as my first entry into the Fediverse, but I'm migrating to hachiderm.io now, which is more of a tech-focused instance.

@mikey@soylent.green Honestly, all this talk about ChatGPT is mostly a good demonstration about how strongly humans have a tendency to anthropomorphize and assign meaning and intent where there is none.

But then again, stick some googly eyes on a rock and we'll think it's alive 😅

@vosje62@mastodon.nl yeah, and that makes a lot of sense from a compliance standpoint and probably for proof in case of legal action.

Like I said: I'm all for being structured, I'm just saying that when you prioritize always adhering to a fixed process over localized decision making, you're not being agile.

And yes, personally I'm a bad fit for "don't think, just follow the steps." That doesn't make it bad perse, just not a situation I thrive in.

@vosje62@mastodon.nl Ironically there is actually a good automated test that already verifies that this screen shows the right text under the right circumstances.

All of this is just about "following the process", because the people doing the checking aren't part of the team.

Nice example of "Agile": just finished a ticket for a plain text change. The ticket stated which text to change and what to change it to. Nice and clear.

I submit it for review and get it bounced back because I didn't write a textual test scenario.

Why? Because it needs to be tested by support, and if it needs to be tested by support it always needs a scenario.

People and interactions over process anyone? 🙄
