@azonenberg@ioc.exchange This is definitely worth filling a bug report for. I would file it on Mesa, but the real bug is definitely in the kernel as an app shouldn't be able to crash other apps. Let me know if you end up doing it or not, so that I can try to get it fixed by contacting the right people.

@karolherbst@chaos.social That is indeed true! Dunning-Kruger cannot be compensated for, both ways 🤣 That being said, people in a certain position do gain experience you simply do not... So dismissing it by default seems pretty wrong, doesn't it?

Yes, the set of circumstances that allowed this person to be in this position are unfathomably numerous, but all that matters is: is this person suitable for the job?

@karolherbst@chaos.social I 100% agree that power does not equate merit, but merit can be a way to gain power, which would not be luck alone. So IMO, giving the benefit of the doubt is a better attitude than pure contempt... which I guess applies to most social situations 😅

@corbet@social.kernel.org I refuse to buy any robot I cannot take control over using Valetudo. I converted our second robot just this Sunday, 5 years after buying and converting our first one. Now we have two working ones, and they free up so much time! PS: the full conversion process took a bit less than 2h despite needing full disassembly (the Roborock S6 Pure isn't the easiest to root, but it was super cheap second hand at just 89€).

@krh@fosstodon.org Oh, yeah. That's something gitlab supports with the SSH executor, but not with the docker one. I am planning to support that in CI tron because it is such a useful feature indeed!

@krh@fosstodon.org Yeah.... that's why with the CI infra I've been developing (#CI_tron), we run containers directly from an initrd (#boot2container). It doesn't solve the reproducibility of results across kernels and hardware, but at least the userspace is covered!
