I'm surprised that people had positive memories of John C. Dvorak. All I remember of him was a period (couple of decades?) where he was bitingly negative about Linux and even Apple.
He ignorantly shit on people's hard work for a living and I was grateful when he stopped being relevant. Even now he has passed I can't recall any positive moments he's left behind.
