@mattsheffield@mastodon.social that’s just shows how much the “myth of america” has become divorced from reality. When the stories of what a great nation you are don’t match what you see with your eyes, you are likely to stop paying attention. Why bother learning history when it’s at best a fairytale written by trauma victims? (I apologize, I don’t usually randomly reply to posts on my timeline, but “young people don’t care about history” jolts me out of lassitude)

@latenightlinux poor OpenSUSE…. I wonder if their target demographic is people who will change things up after install anyway, so the urgency to have a functioning default state is diminished. It certainly took me some time to iron out a good few kinks (and then it’s just been working for months)

@latenightlinux if you had to live in a super cold icy climate or in an extremely hot one, which would you choose? (Humidity and daylight lengths are up to you, eg you can have the super cold option with perpetual equinox and constant rain)
