@lain@pleroma.soykaf.com well, I don't think it's just TC, a _lot_ of publications are funded through ads. But yeah I see what you mean, they were dishonest about bringing to attention _why_ RSS didn't fit their needs.

@lain@pleroma.soykaf.com Well the author qualifies in the next paragraph that analytics pays the bills. I agree that they don't spend enough time defending that viewpoint, but as of now a huge portion of the internet runs on commoditizing analytics and data.
