Claude Code deleted the project’s Claude.md and/or was in a worktree and stopped looking for one in the main branch and I went in circles for three hours while it completely forgot everything about Kirby, rsync, htaccess, and backstop but was convincingly lying that it was doing things.

Just did eight hours of site restoring after a 10 hour work day. That was two more Kirby site upgrades and one big old Wordpress to static.

This week I paired synchronously with a skilled coworker while he worked through a complex Azure upgrade using Claude Code for a site we’re taking from Craft 3 -> 5.
I did the XP big picture pairing work of rubber ducking and watching for hallucinations and he did the high skill work with deep institutional and practical knowledge of working through the steps. It worked.
We un-silo’d from the all too common pattern of a dev and Claude going down wrong paths. Pairing is as good as ever.

In one day, Claude Code got through three years’ of TODOs on two Kirby sites concurrently: upgrading from 3 -> 4 with functional deploy systems, rsync backups, Vagrant-> ddev, long-ago compiled Sass -> working Vite builds, functional RSS feeds, lightweight site search, fixes for terrible YAML mistakes Cursor made last fall, and a plan for 4->5.
