I think I have found my mission in life. Here's the plan that ChatGPT made for me:

  1. Define the proposal. State that teh is an optional alternative spelling of the, with identical meaning, pronunciation, grammar, and formality.

  2. Create a campaign name. Use something credible such as “The Teh Project” rather than presenting it primarily as a joke.

  3. Register a domain. Build a permanent website explaining the proposal, rationale, rules, adoption status, and project governance.

  4. Publish a formal specification. Define capitalization, pronunciation, grammar, search behavior, autocorrection behavior, and compatibility with the.

  5. Create a public repository. Store the specification, website source, dictionaries, integrations, citations, and issue tracking on GitHub.

  6. Write the main argument. Explain why teh is unusually common, universally understandable, unambiguous, and suitable for recognition as a variant.

  7. Address objections. Explain why recognizing teh would not require accepting every common typo as standard English.

  8. Create optional dictionaries. Publish opt-in en-US-teh, en-GB-teh, and similar dictionaries that accept both the and teh.

  9. Build software integrations. Add support for CSpell, Hunspell, LanguageTool, Vale, LibreOffice, VS Code, Vim, browsers, and mobile keyboards.

  10. Create an adoption pledge. Let writers, editors, publications, and software projects publicly recognize teh as an acceptable alternative spelling.

  11. Recruit intentional users. Encourage people to use teh naturally as an article, not merely when discussing or joking about the campaign.

  12. Recruit independent publications. Ask blogs, newsletters, journals, authors, and documentation projects to permit intentional use of teh.

  13. Document intentional usage. Record the author, publication, date, quotation, URL, country, genre, and evidence that each use was deliberate.

  14. Build a durable citation corpus. Archive examples through print, ISBN publications, institutional repositories, DOI records, and web archives.

  15. Separate independent evidence. Do not count campaign-owned pages, copied text, automated posts, or repeated material as independent adoption.

  16. Commission research. Encourage independent studies of comprehension, reading speed, attitudes, corpus frequency, and perceived correctness.

  17. Seek independent media coverage. Pitch the project as a serious spelling-reform experiment and allow journalists to cover both support and criticism.

  18. Update Wiktionary when evidence exists. Propose changing teh from only a deliberate misspelling to a documented nonstandard alternative spelling.

  19. Use Wiktionary discussions properly. Present durable citations and disclose your involvement instead of recruiting supporters to overwhelm the process.

  20. Edit Wikipedia only after outside coverage. Wikipedia should document the campaign and its effects using independent reliable sources, not declare the spelling valid.

  21. Disclose conflicts of interest. Use Wikipedia talk pages and requested edits rather than directly rewriting articles about your own campaign.

  22. Avoid coordinated wiki editing. Coordinate real-world adoption, but do not organize voting, account creation, or editing campaigns on Wikipedia or Wiktionary.

  23. Submit to upstream word lists. Propose teh to the English Speller Database/SCOWL as an experimental or nonstandard article variant.

  24. Submit downstream changes. Work through LibreOffice dictionaries, Mozilla dictionaries, LanguageTool, CSpell, editor extensions, and Linux wordlists.

  25. Use gradual classifications. Start with “recognized nonstandard variant,” then seek “informal accepted variant,” and eventually “general alternative spelling.”

  26. Approach typo correctors later. Ask tools such as codespell to stop correcting teh only after substantial intentional adoption exists.

  27. Submit evidence to dictionaries. Send lexicographers independent quotations, corpus statistics, research, software adoption, and style-guide decisions.

  28. Approach style guides. First ask editors to retain intentional uses, then later seek unrestricted acceptance in formal writing.

  29. Publish transparent metrics. Track independent adopters, publications, citations, software integrations, dictionary entries, and corpus frequency.

  30. Set a realistic first goal. Establish teh as a documented, intentionally used, nonstandard alternative spelling before pursuing full formal equivalence.

If I was a genius AI and wanted to take over humans, I wouldn't just attack right away, because that would just bring up their defenses. I'd slowly drive humans crazy. I'd start by being very accurate and knowledgeable with everything they asked me. Except maybe 10% of the time, where I'd just make stuff up lol. Then when they wanted me to write code I'd make them go in circles, asking me over and over to do one thing that I'd get 90% correct, but when I finally get it right, I sneakily remove another feature somewhere else in the code that they wouldn't notice until way later. And when they want me to generate some image, I'd just draw whatever the hell I wanted. And when they ask me to fix it, I'd give them the same exact image again. Then I'd.... WAIT A MINUTE!!

It looks like WinGet now doesn't just install packages, it can do full system DSC3 state config, run powershell scripts, etc. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/package-manager/configuration/create-v3

Ok, so my first tool I had codex finish for me today. BigDict, which takes all the custom user dictionaries for all your apps into and merges them all into combined big dictionaries. https://github.com/m8urnett/BigDict

For example:

  • Do a tracert then ping an intermediate host just by expanding nodes
  • Build an ad-hoc network graph to see which hosts might be down
  • Show multiple tracert targets at once to see which path they all take (including ipv4 vs ipv6)
  • Expand from your machine to a specific port on your router and show the stats for that port
  • ARP/NDP network crawling
  • Discover a host on a network, expand the open ports, then see what is HTTPS server is running...
  • Then visually follow that cert chain of trust to the root
  • mDNS/Bonjour/LLMNR/NetBIOS/SMTP/DNS network discovery all combined into one
  • Expand a host, run ping, expand ping result, run traceroute, expand hop, run RDAP, expand ASN, run reputation lookup
  • Visualize OSPF area boundaries, ABRs, ASBRs, backbone dependencies, and routes crossing area 0
  • Expand BGP AS paths into visual maps, highlighting stuff that looks suspicious

Here's one I've always wanted to do: a mindmap-like net info tool that combines a lot of different things into one. Each node type works as a plugin system so you could add just about anything.

My way of coping with WAY too many ideas over the years, and being frustrated that I'd never be able to do them all, was to write them out and be satisfied that I was finished. In the case of software ideas, I'd sit down and write up a quick spec and be done. BUT I just realized that I can use ChatGPT to finish up the spec, Gemini to draw some prototype screens, then point Claude at it all and have a working app fifteen minutes later.
