@paranormal_distribution@fosstodon.org Snaps are terrible imo, and i hate having to manually setup any kind of IO forwarding to them. I started on Mint, then Manjaro to get the grasp of how an Arch based distro operates, but then I just went in for full blown arch I would recommend if you have some linux experience to just dive into Arch, and to not use the included installer... as it has problems. The Arch install guide is super useful for getting everything up and running, with a minor caveat that secure boot doesnt really work, and setting up the bootloader is a ballache

The awkward thing about arch, is once you get it, and have a good understanding of your system, it becomes so unbelievably stable and no-one believes you

Meanwhile my ubuntu additional repos break every 4 weeks it seems

@karna @Wrest Best advice I can give is stick with a DAW you like. I really like reaper as it has an unrestricted trial, and its very very cheap anyways learn what you like the sound of, and try to listen more agnostically never clip, especially going into an ADC interface. You can always clip later in software Room setup helps quite alot. Especially for how the super high freqs sound ~10k +
