We are now at the point where health agencies will try and restrict life-saving drugs and vaccines on a whim, with no regard for evidence or due process. These are such dangerous times.

IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.

The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

Tragic and alarming: From the states collecting data, 68% of U.S. counties and jurisdictions have immunization rates below 95% for the MMR vaccine — the level of herd immunity that is required to stop the spread of measles.

This is the committee who will advise the CDC on COVID and other vaccines this week. Not good.

UPDATE: At least 19 states have issued orders to protect COVID vaccine access including AZ, CO, CT, DE, IL, KY, MA, MD, ME, MN, NC, NV, NJ, NM, NY, PA, RI, VA, and WA.

Almost all state-level orders allow pharmacies and clinics to administer vaccines without a prescription, some states have taken steps to ensure insurance coverage.

Massachusetts is outdoing other states because they are the first to require insurers to cover the cost of COVID shots and other vaccines recommended by state health officials.

So.. since New York Governor Kathy Hochul now apparently cares about public health measures that reduce COVID spread, how about issuing at executive order that prevents mask bans and affirms the right for anyone to wear a mask to protect their health?

New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state needs to do this!
