@0x0ddc0ffee@infosec.exchange @Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt I would LOVE to see the resultant shareholder suit over an AI board. There's a long list of duties they are required to perform. Seeing, for example, how the courts would deal with the duty of care or the business judgement rule. OK, the business judgement rule may be handled better by the AI, but... a shareholder would still have them on the duty of care.

Today I learned that what jurisdiction you live in influences a lot of what remedies you could hope for if you are the victim of online fraud. Some jurisdictions have people who know how to handle it. Some don't.

If local law enforcement just kind of shrugs their shoulders with regards to your request then you have no remedy outside of hiring an expensive lawyer to do the trace.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I had a friend who put all her wedding pictures on a raid thinking they would be safe. One drive failed. OK, replace it. The replacement drive was incompatible and caused cascading failures with the other drives. Everything was gone.

@mmasnick Do the lists of which you speak exist on Mastadon or just the client you have selected to use? Clients matter a lot more here. Sorta like phones... I will not stop with my telephone analogy, which I think fits rather spectacularly.
