because they haven't used the existing options
Of course it would be even better if they'd naturally were on different servers, but it is still way better than the current state of Discord, so should be sufficient for moving from Discord in this regard

@groxx@hachyderm.io @Edent@mastodon.social utds got better, joins to rooms not yet on the server got faster, state resolution will be fixed shortly, sync is much faster with sliding sync, the mobile clients have better UX, so not exactly the same anymore
