I want to say a gigantic FUCK YOU to my old landlords. Kiddo was having some big feelings are was teary eyed when we were leaving the house so I scooped him and the toddler up and took them for a drive while my wife did the walk through. Today she told me some of the stuff they said.
Things like "I've been around a lot of kids, he'll get over it. They always do." And "it's good for kids to go through hard things".
Even if you're right, you are not their parent-- what makes you think your opinion about my child's feelings is wanted or relevant? Saying it's good for kids to go through hard things is the most condescending, out of touch boomer bullshit I've heard since I was in grade school in the 90s. He's moving out of the only house he's ever lived in-- being sad is to be expected. Minimizing those feelings to they'll be gotten over, and it's good for them is disrespectful and shows a frightening lack of empathy. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with you anymore. Good luck selling your house for 700k in a neighborhood where nothing has gone for over 640k, you absolute Muppets.
