Even if you're right, you are not their parent-- what makes you think your opinion about my child's feelings is wanted or relevant? Saying it's good for kids to go through hard things is the most condescending, out of touch boomer bullshit I've heard since I was in grade school in the 90s. He's moving out of the only house he's ever lived in-- being sad is to be expected. Minimizing those feelings to they'll be gotten over, and it's good for them is disrespectful and shows a frightening lack of empathy. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with you anymore.
