My The Drifter thoughts have been drifting onto the codex: https://jefklakscodex.com/games/pc/the-drifter/
@irgndsondepp@gts.da-miez.de and @MichaelKlamerus@dosgame.club were right. The game is amazing.

I love adventure games that take place in the nineties and have you fiddle with a PC

I'm exploring Kirby spin-offs on the Game Boy and started with Pinball Land which is pretty good! https://jefklakscodex.com/games/gameboy/kirbys-pinball-land/
I just finished Kirby's Block Ball and had a few sessions of Star Stacker. Block Ball is my favourite so far. I wish I knew about these games as a kid!

My friend Peter was featured in The Retro Collective about his new HDD Synth project to emulate the classic sound of HDDs spinning up when you're rocking SD flash cards for your 486 machine:

As a retro being, I sometimes feel stuck gazing at my rear mirror instead of looking forward through the windshield and as I try to begin conversations with friends and family about those "good ol' days", I notice something odd: they don't seem to care as much as I do? Have they moved on? How?
Why am I a retro hardware/software hoarder? Why do I hark back to "that time" so often? Nostalgia can be a bitch.
Is there anyone with similar feelings that has researched the topic a bit?

A friend of mine is working for a small indie game studio here in Belgium and their game The Spell Brigade finally has a release date!

Any (un)popular opinions on terminal emulators here?
I was an iTerm2 user until they shoved AI crap in it. Now I use Ghostty but I'm a shift selection noob and Ghostty is very basic.
On Linux I tried Konsole but the options are a bit overwhelming. I'm eyeing at Kitty.

Fiddling with https://github.com/RedBearAK/toshy to get my cmd muscle memory back on openSUSE. Feels dirty but works nicely.
Except for Emacs where it completely messes up everything. Trying to add it to the exclude list but so far can't figure out how.

Hello World from openSUSE Tumbleweed on the work laptop!
I was a bit naughty. The Win11 partition is gone; whoops.
It's been twenty years since I tried Linux for desktop. Plasma looks just like Windows; not sure if that's good.
Installation was flawless; wifi and hibernation "just works" (I was a bit scared; bad memories from early 2000s). Fingerprint scanner took some installs but works as well.
It even recognizes Navidrome tracks in lock screen!
My mind trips over the cmd vs ctrl now.

In my attempts to install Linux on the work laptop, I keep on banging my head against these invisible corporate walls.
Day 1: whoops I don't have an USB stick bigger than 2 GB. Ordered a new one.
Day 2: whoops I'm not allowed to boot from USB. IT admins enabled it for me.
Day 3: whoops I still can't boot because of secure boot & BitLocker. Back to the IT service dept, they temporarily disable it. I see it works, cycle home, try installing and...
I can't resize the 1TB bitlocker partition. FFS! 😡

I decided to charge the Analogue Pocket; my wife's Croc GBC cart was still in it. After three levels I can safely say it's been a while since I witnessed a train wreck.
I wonder how much Argonaut did on this and how much Virtucraft Studios. If it's the former I'm very VERY disappointed.

This whole Emacs adventure has me looking back into Linux/BSD
